Anand Prakash, MD

Dr. Anand Prakash grew up in Gorakhpur, India, and received his medical training from Byramjee Jee JeeBhoy Medical School, Pune, India. He moved to the United States as International Research Scholar at the University of Alabama at Birmingham(UAB) for graduate studies and obtained his Masters in Clinical Nutrition (MS) and did research work at Southern Research Institute. He then joined Internal Medicine Residency at Brookwood Baptist Health System in Birmingham, AL. Following his residency training, he worked as a Hospitalist and served as the Chair, Department of Internal Medicine, and held adjunct faculty positions as Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He obtained his Nephrology Fellowship training at the Division of Nephrology, the University of Alabama at Birmingham(UAB), under the tutelage of internationally renowned nephrologists.

After finishing his Nephrology Fellowship training, Dr. Prakash joined North Texas Kidney Disease Associates in 2020.  Dr. Prakash has extensive training and experience and is passionate about taking care of his patients.

Dr. Prakash is married with 3 children.
